Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Owemint (the "App") handles information in connection with your use of the App.

1. Privacy Overview

  • The App’s core functionality does not require internet access.
  • Core debt-tracking records are stored locally on the user’s device.
  • Permissions are requested only for specific, user-initiated features.
  • Purchase validation and restore checks may require internet connectivity through RevenueCat and the relevant app store billing platform.

2. Information Entered by the User

Users may enter information such as:

  • person names,
  • amounts and due dates,
  • notes and reasons, and
  • optional attachments.

This information is used solely to provide the App’s debt-tracking, history, and reminder functionality.

3. Permissions and Purpose-Specific Use

Notifications

  • Purpose: Deliver local reminders configured by the user (including due-date and follow-up reminders).
  • Use Limitation: Used only to schedule and present reminder notifications based on user settings and local record data.
  • Control: Optional. Users may disable notifications through device or app settings.

Biometric / Device Authentication (if enabled)

  • Purpose: Support optional app-lock and access-protection features.
  • Use Limitation: Used only to verify access through device security systems.
  • Control: Optional. App-lock features are user-controlled.

Photos / Media (if attachments are used)

  • Purpose: Allow selection of images/files for entry attachments.
  • Use Limitation: Used only to attach user-selected files to records.
  • Control: Optional. Attachments are not required for core functionality.

4. Local-First Data Handling

Owemint is local-first. Core user records are intended to remain on the user’s device, and the App can be used offline for core tracking functions.

Paid-feature checks (such as purchase validation, entitlement refresh, and restore purchases) may use network requests to RevenueCat and store billing services.

On supported Apple devices, app-managed files stored in Owemint's document container may also be visible through the Files app or Finder file sharing. This can include user-created backups, restored backup files, and attachment files that the user chose to keep in the app.

5. Data Sharing

The App does not send your core debt-tracking records to our servers.

If users export or share data (for example, backups or files), such actions are user-initiated.

If iOS or Finder file sharing exposes app-managed files on a user's own device, that visibility is provided by the operating system's local file access features rather than by Owemint uploading those records to our servers.

6. Purchase and Entitlement Data (RevenueCat, Play Console, App Store Connect)

We do not store your personal debt records on our servers. Your debt records, notes, reminders, and attachments stay on your device.

When you purchase, restore, or validate Pro access, limited purchase-related and technical data is processed by third-party billing platforms:

  • RevenueCat (purchase and entitlement management),
  • Google Play / Play Console (Android billing and app operations),
  • Apple App Store / App Store Connect (iOS billing and app operations).

Based on those services' documentation, this processing can include:

  • product identifiers (for example owemint_pro_lifetime),
  • purchase tokens / receipts and transaction status needed for validation,
  • entitlement and restore status,
  • purchase timestamps and related billing metadata,
  • technical/app identifiers used by purchase SDKs and platforms.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Core record retention:

  • Core debt records, notes, reminders, and attachments are stored locally on your device.
  • You can edit, archive, delete, export, and restore this local data using in-app tools.
  • Uninstalling the app generally removes local app data from that device (subject to device/OS behavior and any user-created backups).

Purchase and entitlement retention:

  • Purchase and entitlement metadata used for Pro access is processed and retained by RevenueCat and the relevant store platform (Google Play / Apple App Store) under their own policies.
  • Store transaction history and billing records are managed by the platform account you used to purchase and the platform/provider retention rules.

8. Policy Updates and Continued Use

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be published with a revised "Last updated" date.

Continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy is published constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
